Saturday, Sept. 14
8am - The Mountaineer - Group run: “How to trail run” clinic led by Salomon's Jen Horowitz. A short 30-45min run with lots of breaks while Jen explains key concepts in trail running and we get a chance to practice them. Jan and Sarah tagged along on one of these earlier in the year and felt it would be a great way to start the camp so that we all have some techniques in mind to work on as we hit the trails again in the afternoon and on Sunday. Even if you're already a seasoned mountain running, you're sure to learn something new.
10:00am - The Mountaineer conference room - Endurance nutrition with Megan Chacosky, US olympic team dietitian and chef.
11:30-1:30pm - Break: no camp programming. Eat some lunch and relax before our afternoon run. Also during this time Megan Chacosky will demonstrate how to make homemade energy food, vendors (Salomon, Scarpa, La Sportiva, Leki, Princeton Tech) will have gear for the public to check out/demo at the Mountaineer, and Salomon will run another “How to trail run” clinic open to everyone. Check it out, or do your own thing until our group run.
1:30-3pm - The Mountaineer - Group run: We'll split up into two groups and go for 60-90min, easy to moderate pace. Bring a towel and a change of clothes for a quick swim in the river to clean up afterward.
3:15-4pm - The Mountaineer - Treat your body to a mellow cool down yoga session. Join Nancy Wise, RYT 500 and co-owner of the Mountaineer, in a 45 minute gentle and restorative yoga flow that will compliment your trail running and hopefully leave you feeling rejuvenated, limber and grounded.
4pm - The Mountaineer conference room - Injury prevention workshop for runners with Hilary McCloy DPT.
5:30-6:45pm - Ausable Inn - Dinner (included; we'll have options for all dietary needs)
7-8:30pm - Keene Arts - Aliza Lapierre, Sarah Keyes and Salomon presentations
